The autosphere is abuzzed with, finally, pricing details on the all-new Acura TSX sports wagon.
According to officials, the wagonized TSX will start at $31,820, including an $860 destination charge.
For those keeping score, the wagon bodystyle -- previously a European exclusive -- commands a $1350 premium over a comparable 2011 TSX sedan. Although four-door models are available with two different engines and transmissions, every 2011 TSX Sport Wagon will be fitted with Acura's 201-horsepower, 2.4-liter I-4, along with a five-speed automatic transmission. The TSX Sport Wagon is expected to attain an EPA fuel economy rating of 22/30 mpg (city/highway) fuel economy, which is virtually identical to the 2010 TSX sedan's EPA rating of 21/30 mpg. This feat was reportedly accomplished by means of reducing internal friction within the automatic transmission, which also helps boost the 2011 TSX sedan's EPA rating to 22/31 mpg.
Early production examples are due to arrive in dealer lots within the next few weeks, and if all goes according to plan, Acura should move roughly 4000 TSX Sport Wagons (roughly ten percent of all TSX production) by the end of 2011.
