SpeedART Goes Extra Wide with New Porsche Cayenne Titan EVO-XL 600

Even though the Essen Motor Show sounds like a more appropriate event for a tuning proposal like the Titan EVO-XL 600, the crew at SpeedART has decided to unveil its latest offering for the 2011 Porsche Cayenne at the Geneva Motor Show this March. If the Cayenne Titan EVO-XL looks familiar, that's because it's wider-body version of the Titan EVO (hence the XL in the name).

The body kit includes a front bumper, rear bumper, a bespoke roof spoiler and extra wide fender flares with matching side skirts. A set of massive 23-inch forged alloy wheels with 315/25 ZR23 tires work with a lowering kit to complete the new look. SpeedART also has a variety of customizations available for the Cayenne's interior, ranging from carbon shell-type seats to a multi-media-unit with iPad and iPod-docking-station.

The German tuning firm provides a standard power kit for the Cayenne's 4.8-liter V8 turbo engine comprising of an ECU tune and a modified exhaust system with an optional switch to control the exhaust note, which help lift output from 500HP and 516 lb-ft to 600HP and 627 lb-ft. SpeedART said it is currently developing a stage two kit that will push output up to as much as 700-horsepower.

TechArt Teases New 2011 Porsche Cayenne Magnum

Having sold more than 1,000 units of its first-generation Porsche Cayenne Magnum models, it's only natural for German tuning house TechArt to develop a successor based on the freshly launched second-generation Cayenne. Teased here for the first time, TechArt's new Magnum program for the 2011 Cayenne will be given its world premiere at the Auto Zurich Car Show in Switzerland, which runs from November 11 to 14.

The tuning program will include a full body kit with a new front bumper that includes LED daytime running lights and additional xenon units, a carbon fiber hood, rear apron, side skirts, wider fenders and a roof spoiler. The sport exhaust tail pipes and newly designed alloy wheels in sizes between 20- and 23-inches will complete the exterior package.

For the interior, TechArt will offer customers a variety of options ranging from bespoke leather upholstery and unique three-spoke steering wheels to roof-mounted entertainment kit.

The aftermarket tuner is also preparing a host of performance enhancements with engine kits plus suspension and braking system upgrades. Specific details will be released after the presentation of TechArt's Magnum program at the Swiss auto show.

New Porsche Small SUV Confirmed by VW Group CEO, Says it May be Called "Cajun"

According to Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn himself, there's a new baby Cayenne in the works. In an interview with German magazine Der Spiegel, Winterkorn said Porsche "will get a new SUV, a smaller brother to the Cayenne which might be named Cajun."

I guess the name is appropriate if Porsche insists on spicing up its lineup with controversial vehicles. Should this be the case, can we expect the Panamera coupe to be called the Tabasco? Or perhaps the Texas Pete? Name game in the comments below.

As for the ragin' Cajun, why would Porsche bother building it at all? For the same reason that it's said to be building a new entry-level VW-based roadster: to piss off purists and elitists alike.

Well, actually, it's because Porsche is now controlled by VW, and the people's car manufacturer can and will do anything to help attain its lofty sales goals of 150,000 Porsche models sold (in the "medium" term).

A new Porsche cute ute will do just that, and will also help spread out some of the Q5's development costs. If this little sports car SUV does make it to production, it'll probably just be a smaller version of the Cayenne (which shares its platform with the latest Touareg). If true, that's a shame.

    ...deep breath...

It's a shame because a small 5-door SUV is exactly what's expected, and Porsche doesn't seem crazy enough to put out more than one version (double-dog dare to you, Porsche).

If Stuttgart's fastest were to go a little zany, though, could we recommend a three-door SUV variant (with an emphasis on the sport) to tackle the Range Rover Evoque? Clearly Land Rover is willing to commit to a unique new segment, so why not Porsche?

SpeedART Powers Up the New Porsche Cayenne SUV Hybrid

What's the point of buying a hybrid vehicle if you're going to tune it and consequently, lose on fuel economy? Well, even though some will beg to differ, SpeedART's answer to that question when it comes to the new Porsche Cayenne Hybrid, is more power when needed without affecting the SUV's capability to run in pure electric operation, in which case, both CO2 emissions and fuel consumption are down to zero.

The German tuning firm's program for the Cayenne Hybrid bumps output on the 3.3-liter supercharged V6 TSI from 333HP to 407HP, thus increasing the petrol engine and electric motor system's combined output from 380HP to 450HP. The 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time drops from 6.5 sec to 6.0 sec, while top speed rises by 10km/h to 252km/h (157mph).

SpeedART's tuning proposal for the hybrid version of the Cayenne also includes a sport exhaust system with a nifty sound switch and 2x100 mm tail pipes, along with new 22-inch forged alloys that the company says weigh the same as cast 21'' wheels so fuel consumption remains unaffected by the change. The alloys are wrapped in 275/30 ZR22 tires at the front and 315/30 ZR22 at the back.

The company also offers a special decals finished in light-blue for the exterior as well as a lowering kit module for vehicle's equipped with the air-ride system, and lowering springs for model's with the conventional suspension.

Interior upgrades are limited to a new turbo pressure gauge mounted on the dashboard and a grey finish for the rev counter on the instrument panel.

Coachbuilder Teases Porsche Cayenne Coupe SUV Special

What you see here in these renderings isn't another conceptual design study but a teaser for a limited production coupe version of the Porsche Cayenne SUV from a UK-based tuning house called Merdad that is owned by someone who previously worked with Uwe Gemballa.

The tuning company says that buyers will have the option to base their car on either the current- or previous-generation Porsche Cayenne.

Aside from chopping off the rear doors, Medrad will also upgrade the Cayenne Turbo's 4.8-liter V8 boosting output by nearly 250 ponies to a total of 740-horsepower and allowing it to complete the 0 to 60 mph (96km/h) sprint in less than 4.4 seconds.

According to the tuning house, the package will also include further exterior and interior modifications, with more specific details to be released at a later date.

Project Kahn Readying Tuning Mods for New Porsche Cayenne Turbo

Here's a teaser photo of Project Kahn's upcoming show car based on Porsche's new Cayenne Turbo. No news on whether it will have performance upgrades or just be a wheel deal.

Even in bone-stock form a 500-horsepower second-gen Turbo hits sixty (that's 96km/h) in 4.4 seconds, so don't complain. Usually I'm not a big fan of aftermarket wheels, but these Kahn units sure do look good.
