2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS: New Photos Surfaces Online

New Photos of Porsche's hotly anticipated 911 GT2 RS - apparently shot during some sort of official presentation- have made their way on the internet revealing Stuttgart's hardcore sports car in all its glory.

The pictures reveal that the baddest ever road-going version of the 911 gets a wider body, spoilers of all sorts, a carbon fiber hood and massive air intakes behind the doors along with a new set of wheels.

The interior on the other hand has been stripped out (notice the latches on the doors) and fitted with a pair of bucket seats, which like the rest of the cabin, are trimmed in red Alcantara.

We don't have the mechanical details yet, but it is said that the new RS packs a modified version of the 911 GT2's twin-turbocharged flat-six producing over 600HP.

It is also reported that the weight saving measures on Porsche's rear-wheel drive 'widow maker' have shaved almost 100kg or about 220 pounds from the kerbweight.

We'll have more on the new 911 GT2 RS as soon as more information or/and pictures are available.

SPY SHOTS: New Hardcore Porsche 911 GT2 RS Could get 600HP

Porsche is set to release its most powerful factory-built street car ever, the GT2 RS. Possibly. Here are the spy shots.

So, how powerful is it? The twin-turbocharged GT2's flat six is rumored to be getting output rated in the 600-horsepower range (it could even more than the V10 Carrera GT's 605 horsepower) and is targeting a 7:22 lap time at the 'Ring. Value shoppers, on the other hand, will probably still want to stick with the ZR1.

Exterior differences to keep an eye on are mostly GT3 in nature: center-lock alloys, a hood-forward nose intake, mild front fender flares, a stripped interior with door pulls instead of handles, and a full roll cage.

Performance enhancements would be supplied by adding a fully-adjustable suspension to the corners, carbon-ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust, and active drive train mounts. All that, and oodles of carbon fiber (including the wing, vents, and any potential add-ons) keep the weight down.

Speaking of weight, since the GT2 is already rear-wheel drive, it starts out at an advantage over the Turbo in weight (if not self-assurance). Factoring in the carbon fiber and a likely-optional $1,700 lithium ion battery, weight is said to come it at close to 90 kg under the outgoing model.

What's weird is this: one of the rumors going around is that the RS will be the only option available for buyers in search of a second-gen 997 GT2. At a price approaching (or possibly over) $300,000, isn't it too far above the Turbo S to justify killing a plain-jane GT2?

SCOOP: Porsche Continues Testing of All-New 2012 Boxster

Once again, our spy photographers have snagged the brand new iteration of Porsche's Boxster model during testing in Germany.

The prototype version seen here continues to be under camouflage, though to a lesser extent than previous. According to our spies, the new model appeared to be slightly longer and wider than the current version, something that should benefit the roadster's interior space.

As with most Porsches, the exterior looks of the new Boxster will be a subtle evolution over the previous model. However, bigger changes are expected in the interior that will most likely take styling cues from the Panamera.

Underneath the sheetmetal, the Boxster's replacement will share a variety of parts with the 911.

It is expected that engineers will focus on weight reduction as one way to improve the mid-engine sport car's dynamics while it is also believed that Boxster will make use of the new aerodynamic systems like the front air intake mechanisms that is being prepared for the next 911.

The most radical change may very well concern the engine lineup as Porsche is said to be considering the addition of a high-output, turbocharged four-cylinder engine to the Boxster range. This move could help the company offset larger vehicles like the Cayenne and reduce fleet average CO2 emissions.

Either way, the flat six engines are likely to continue to be offered in the new Boxster, albeit further improved in terms of power and fuel efficiency.

New Porsche Cayenne Accidentally Appears on Configurator or another Photoshop?

A screen shot from Porsche's European configurator that shows the next generation of the Cayenne SUV has been making the rounds on numerous internet forums today. Word has it that the 2011 Cayenne was accidentally uploaded on the configurator but was removed quickly after it was discovered.

And even though mistakes of the same sort by other automakers have occurred in the past, we're fully aware of the fact that photoshop can be a sly mistress if you know you way around so we won't hastily jump into conclusions about its authenticity.

Either way, it won't be long before Porsche officially lifts the wraps off the new Cayenne SUV that's scheduled for a world premiere at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

SPY SHOTS: 2011 Porsche Cayenne SUV gets Sleeker

Porsche is putting the final touches on its second generation Cayenne SUV that is anticipated to be introduced at a major car show in the first half of 2010. These new spy pictures suggest that the next Cayenne will be far better looking than its graceless predecessor adopting a smoother design language and more dynamic proportions accentuated by the lowered roofline, smaller rear window and steeper angle of the rear tailgate.

Not surprisingly, the Cayenne's dashboard looks very similar to the Panamera sports sedan featuring a five-gauge cluster and a center stack dominated by a large screen with the climate controls positioned underneath. Flanking the gear lever on the elevated lower console are the suspension controls and numerous other buttons.

The next Cayenne will be built on a modified version of the Panamera's platform that will also be shared with the second generation VW Touareg.

Word from Germany is that Porsche's engineers have worked overtime to reduce the SUV's weight as much as 200kg or 440 lbs over the current model with obvious benefits in handling, fuel economy, CO2 emissions and of course, performance figures.

The direct-injection powerplants are expected to be carry-over units from the Panamera. A VW Group-sourced V6 petrol producing around 300-horsepower will serve as the entry-level engine, while the range will top out with Porsche's 4.8-liter V8 delivering 400HP in naturally aspirated form and 500HP in turbo spec.

The V8 models will most likely feature Porsche's seven-speed double-clutch PDK transmission as standard.

Porsche will also offer the new Cayenne with a V6 gasoline-electric hybrid powerplant as well as a V6 diesel engine.
